This community arts festival delivers fun for everyone and is a showcase for locally-made art, food, arts education and entertainment. Our festival has grown from a modest beginning in 2002 to a signature summer event for Waterbury. The Waterbury Arts Fest wouldn’t happen without the ongoing support of dedicated volunteers, a growing awareness of the importance of the arts to our local economy and quality of life, and the generous support of our sponsors!

The 2013 Waterbury Arts Fest will take place Friday evening, July 12 & Saturday, July 13, 10 am to 4pm.

Today is the final Waterbury Farmers Market until the winter series gets started. It’s your last chance to get some great prepared food while shopping for locally grown produce and meats.  Stop by the Rusty Parker Park on Main Street between 3:00 and 6:30 pm, enjoy the rain free weather (we promise!), chat with some friendly folks, and be sure to visit the train station too. The Waterbury Farmers Market is held every Thursday late afternoon and early evening through mid-October at Rusty Parker Park on south Main Street. You can’t miss it – after all, this is a small town. Plan to stay for the Rotary Concert Series afterwards at the same location.

Waterbury Chef Named a Semifinalist in the James Beard Foundation Awards

For the third year in a row, Waterbury chef Eric Warnstedt, owner of the Hen of the Wood restaurant, has been selected as a regional best chef semi-finalist in the nationally prestigious James Beard Foundation Awards.

Only one of the 21 semifinalists will be named the winner at the awards ceremony May 9 in New York City.

Eric was also named in 2008 as one of the Top 10 New Chefs in the USA by Food and Wine Magazine.

In addition to Eric’s restaurant, the Waterbury VT area is lucky to have a number of good quality dining options. You can see a list of them on the Waterbury Tourism Council Dining page.
