Greetings from Waterbury, VT!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Welcome to the new blog of the Waterbury Tourism Council, Vermont’s recreational crossroads!

Right off Interstate 89 at Exit 10, Waterbury is central to Stowe, Montpelier, Burlington and the Mad River Valley where ski resorts, popular attractions, and nature’s recreational opportunities abound. Our village is full of historic buildings, including the recently restored 1875 train station still in use today as an Amtrak stop. Waterbury is home to some of the country’s best known specialty food manufacturers such as Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, but the atmosphere is still classic Vermont small town, full of charm and smiles.

Thousands of visitors each year make Waterbury their home base, as they enjoy the scenic vistas and outdoor activities and attractions abundant in the area.  Waterbury’s central location is important whether your interests are hiking, skiing, sightseeing, cross-country skiing, fishing, sleigh rides, shopping or sampling the offerings and variety of Vermont destinations: Montpelier (the state capital), Burlington, and the four world-class ski resorts of Stowe, Mad River Glen, Bolton Valley and Sugarbush. All these places are within 25 minutes of Waterbury.

Through this blog we will be highlighting businesses, events, and activities that set Waterbury apart from your typical resort town, and keep people coming back year after year!
